Hey everybody
Sep. 5th, 2019 12:14 amWho has all his fics in a row for exchanges? This guy.
I'm enjoying the lull before Trick or Treat exchange starts and then after that, Yuletide!
I'm going to a giant used booksale in the morning and then various meals with various family members who don't interact because of Reasons.
So I really wish I could fall asleep!

Date: 2019-09-07 01:45 pm (UTC)The other is Disney Animated Movie Exchange (DAME) which is run by me and it is low stress as it is a simple fandom + character match of a limited series of canons (animated disney films), all of which are short canon consumptions. I ended up with someone with compatible wants for their fic and was able to quickly finish.
EDIT: I actually realized the other one was Press Start, not AuEX! I finished AUeX weeks ago! But I put that effort into typing it anyway! So I'll pitch Press Start too!
Press Start has no involvement from me and is focused on videogames! So canon review, while fun by design, requires interaction and sometimes lots of skill and always time. So that puts it in medium to high stress for that section, but other than that it's a fandom + character match and 1000 word minimum with plenty of writing time. And the mod does a good job. So I would rate it at a medium to low stress exchange.

Okay, so! Trick or Treat! It's a multi-fandom exchange with a 300 word minimum wordcount and you either write (as asked for by the recipient and you have to offer to do it) a trick (spooky! Horror! darkfic!) or a treat (sweet fluff!)!
It is low stress.
Yuletide is the grandmama of exchanges! It's old and huge. It's been around since before Ao3!
It's not like the other ones. It matches on fandom + ALL CHARACTERS you tag. So instead of being like 'I would like a fic in fandom: Squirrel King with either: King Squirrel, Queen Squirrel, Misha as the main character!' it's like 'I would like Squirrel King and the fic has to include King Squirrel, Queen Squirrel, and Misha, no leaving any out'
So if someone only offers Queen Squirrel and Misha, they won't match to you. This kind of raises it to medium stress because it makes matching more confusing, but it ALSO makes more certain you'll get a gift you've been yearning for.
Yuletide is a 1000 word minimum and is rare fandoms only. If there's more than a certain amount of completed, non-crossover, english fics on ao3 and fanfiction.net, the fandom nomination will be rejected.
So I'd be able to get Murder She Wrote in easily (and often do) but Harry Potter is completely out of the question.
I love Yuletide! I'm normally a tagmod for it but this year I'm just the discord mod.
