Earthsea trilogy, maybe Left Hand of Darkness?

With the disclaimer that it's been ages since I read it, The Word for World is Forest is really good.

Hello stranger! :-) I would recommend Changing Planes.. It's a book of short stories of different worlds you can only get to by being truly bored at airports. They're quick and easy and very interesting (linguistics/anthropology stuff). I also love The Disposessed. I could never get into Earthsea, but I'm not into fantasy so much as sci-fi.
