Sorry, the images for this post are actually from Prince Caspian, because anything I had for The Silver Chair would spoiled it.

I finished the book! Oh my god, I thought The Magician's Nephew or Voyage of the Dawn Treader were my favourites. Is it possible to have three favourites? This is what my mom claims for me and my two siblings, but I think she is probably a liar.

As I mentioned in my previous posts, Jill and Eustace messed up. Like, constantly. Especially Jill. While part of it fuelled my irritation for how CS Lewis is about women (oh my god, that jab at the headmaster of the experimental school being a woman), I have to say it made the moments where Jill done good feel like a genuine triumph. I felt more with Jill on the trip than any other Narnian lead so far. She was just so great to get into the head of. <3 Jill.

Oh, you may recall my little experiment with how I viewed her at the beginning? Throughout the text, there was no contradictions to the hypothesis of her being half Chinese. so there you go. EXPERIMENT: SUCCESS.

And now I'm going to read East of the Sun and West of the Moon because I had a dream where I broke off my work relationship with Disney to make my own animated fairytale movies and this was second feature, after The Bamboo Cutter and the Moon-Child, which I won't be reading because I already know (and love) that fairytale. Later in the dream I arrested the Pope because as well as being a world famous animator/director/film magnate, I was also the sheriff and he was causing a public nuisance. It all ties together, okay.

I honestly have no idea (except for the start, which sounds a lot like Psyche and Eros) what happens in East of the etc, so let's broaden my cultural knowledge. It's time I learned about Norwegians.



For those of you interested in buying the Narnia books digitally, I have to confess my colour illustrations I've been posting come from a different source than the digital editions I purchased, which had black and white illustrations. I am not sure where it's possible to get the colour ones. Sorry!
