Selected panels from Tintin and the Crab with the Golden Claws

I was reading Tintin to refresh myself for research and decided to give Haddock's intro comic a go.

The comic: Tintin and the Crab with the Golden Claws, which is the ninth Tintin adventure and (as I said) the introduction of his good friend Captain Haddock.

The plot: Tintin's curiousity is aroused by a scrap of paper found on a dead sailor, bearing the word 'KARABOUDJAN'. It's discovered that this is the name of the ship, so Tintin accompanies detectives Thomson and Thompson to take a look.

That's when he gets kidnapped and shit gets real.

This is also where we meet poor old Captain Haddock, who is a rather pathetic figure at this point in time. A drunkard kept out of the way and useless by his whiskey supplying first mate, who is using Haddock's ship to smuggle opium.

They end up in the Sahara desert, eventually, and from there they make their way to a city and further adventure.

Snowy also finds a dead camel and is the happiest dog in the whole world.

I'm looking forward to later comics, where Haddock has more of his badass moments like he had near the end of this one, and less of the panel I used above.
