I finished Anne of Green Gables today.
The last tweet I made before having to hide my teary face in the Tim Horton's was: "Matthew's sick, Marilla has head pains, and their bank's in trouble. The perfect storm."
So anyway, three pages later, crying in Timmy's.
Not my most stereotypically manly moment.
I got my wish, though. Marilla finally told Anne how much she loved her, something I'd been wanting desperately to happen throughout the whole book. I saw Anne grow up, and I saw a good glimpse of what her future was going to be like. Plus. Josie Pye? Total jerkface. Pass it on.
In conclusion, Anne of Green Gables was a fun book to read. I'm glad I listened to you guys and did it.
Not sure what to do next, maybe a Narnia book. I keep saying 'maybe a Narnia book' but the next thing you know I'm reading Discworld or Peter Pan or Secret Garden. Stuff like that. But my pal Snacky's Narnia fanfic excerpts always make me want to revisit the books and I loved the Magician's Nephew, so...
