Always homework never weekend
Dec. 16th, 2020 01:48 pmHeinrich Schliemann led an interesting life with a lot of articles about him that refuse to specify exactly what he did as a 'clerk' to make his millions. My professor says it's arms dealing to the Russians. It would be nice if I could find a citeable source for the paper I'm working on.
In other news, winter and my bad insulation has struck so I'm getting to enjoy 16/61 degree room temps while mice dance a cantata in my ceiling. I will burn your little bodies for heat. No no I'm not serious but please go away.
I've got my Yuletide fic in. I'm pretty pleased with it, it made me giggle when I reread it. It was supposed to be my break from homework for a bit to refresh the ol' brainjuices but the idea was so fully formed in my head I was done the majority work in a half hour. The tinkering and editing took longer, but that's done in bursts and not steady work like writing.
I'm thinking of making myself a custom notebook on redbubble that says in cheesy text MY OCS so I can write future messages to myself to go 'I really named that x-men oc 'Geist' Caspar Nachtmann?'
I mean, I'm not actually ashamed. I think it's perfectly in line with the canon he's based in. But my memory is old and frail and it'd be nice to have a record that's not susceptible to coderot like a wiki.
Some of my fiction sites are down because of an issue with updates and concrete5 but I'm just too tired these days to figure out how to solve it/upgrade them. I might just pay dreamhost to do it for me when I've got the money. Sometimes luxury is paying for other peoples time. I could use more luxury.
