May. 11th, 2009 10:00 pmTwo church signs, sports fan. We'll start off with the creepy:
Kind of brings to mind this video*, in terms of implied threat.
Next isn't quite so alarming!
This led to a lively debate vs baking a pie or cleaning up around the house first. What would you do?
In other news, I'm working on a lengthier, thoughtier post about how I fear adult literature which will probably degenerate into links to childrens fiction, but pretty sure you guys won't mind overmuch.
SPEAKING OF CHILDREN'S FICTION: The Patricia Wrede/Thirteenth Child thing. This first came to my attention the exact day I'd bought that book, as well as a few others of hers. I am perturbed to say the least.
It has led to tiny hamster thoughts about whether or not there's actually something wrong with me, like I'm not sure that it's actually wrong of me to want to see an alternate history where the europeans didn't decide to slaughter people. I'm just like, wouldn't mammoths help? "Holy shit! Mammoths! Let's make friends with the people who know what to do just in case."
The whole thing has me rather befuddled and I've never claimed to be any expert of any sort, and this is one of those circumstances I'd feel a lot more comfortable asking
skywardprodigal for advice, because honestly I'm aware of how limited my worldview is, growing up in rural white canada as a rich kid. And I know if I feel squirmy about something, that means something's wrong. Of course, that usually works best for identifying pedophiles. You think I'm kidding, but recent arrests would prove you wrong.
OH. Secondary link: If you're POC and you know it clap your hands. Or post a comment!
*Still not sure why a white boy is going to shoot me.
Drive carefully, cars aren't the only thing recall by their maker.

What would you do if Jesus was coming tomorrow?
