Dear Worldbuilder
Feb. 23rd, 2024 09:39 pmHello! I'm Rosencrantz on Ao3 and I'm so happy you're checking out my letter!
Likes: Adventures, meta, outside commentary, inside commentary, academic, artifact catalogues, book reviews, articles, interviews, romance, Intense Feelings
DNW: Dub/noncon, underage (anything -18/+18, sexual -18/-18)
Ratings: G to Explicit
If smut's the name of the game, please just stick to the DNWs. My personal smut preferences enjoy more petite partner on top, light bdsm, lots of after cuddling, and mouth and hand stuff.
Every single prompt is for fanfiction and/or meta. I do not need a conventional narrative for my gift and some of my favourite worldbuilding fics have been things like book catalogues. I did not choose fanart but if you want to incorporate images into the gift, that's fine by me! Just as long as it's not the whole gift.

Fandom: Pocket Monsters | Pokemon (Main Video Game Series)
WB: Ghost Pokemon research (Pokemon MVGS)
WB: Famous losses in the field of Pokemon research (Pokemon MVGS)
WB: Establishing Pokemon research as a science and its guidelines (Pokemon MVGS)
WB: Classifying a Pokemon's type (Pokemon MVGS)
Ookido Yukinari-hakase | Professor Samuel Oak (Pokemon MVGS)
Original Character(s) (Pocket Monsters | Pokemon (Main Video Game Series))
Any or No Characters (Pocket Monsters | Pokemon (Main Video Game Series))
Prompts:
Gimme that dangerous pokemon research lore. I love ghosts. I love the weird entries that are like 'wait, how did they learn THAT?'
I love pokemon scientists in general!
Request 2
Fandom: World of Warcraft
WB: Urban legends of the Forsaken (World of Warcraft)
WB: Bodily reconstruction politics among the Forsaken (World of Warcraft)
Deathstalker Commander Belmont (World of Warcraft)
Original Character(s) (World of Warcraft)
Any or No Characters (World of Warcraft)
Prompts:
I chose Belmont as a character (along with the original or any/no) because I felt that Belmont's role as an authority figure to new Forsaken recruits put him in a good position to be passing down this kind of knowledge. AS WELL as his position on the council as a leader of the Forsaken now for the politics part, or even just interacting with Calia who's new or his time with Voss when she was becoming part of the 'family'.
Otherwise, there's a lot of academic type characters and groups in WoW to work from, perspectives from the living Horde or Alliance, or even when they start working together like the Dragonscale Expedition Forsaken/Everyone else groups!

Fandom: Marvel 616
WB: Magically created false lifetimes (Marvel 616)
Thor (Marvel 616)
Prompts:
The canon I have in mind for this is *way* early on in the Thor continuity, when he was existing as Donald Blake part time or shortly after he shed that identity. What was that like? How could he talk about it? What was it like for Donald to exist or eventually 'die'? How do you reconcile it?
Request 4
Fandom: Marvel 616
WB: Religion in the Marvel Universe (Marvel 616)
WB: Political factions in the Marvel Universe (Marvel 616)
Original Character(s) (Marvel 616)
Any or No Characters (Marvel 616)
Prompts:
Sometimes I sit and think to myself about how there's likely not a major religious hegemony when magic, Gods, and Galactus are all clearly real.
I feel the same for politics, like I know in the Marvel universe they tend to 1:1 us, but I think I'd like it explored more into the types of politics a world where death is constantly overcome (and not just by heroes), where the ocean fights back, where aliens regularly invade, and what the hell is your local councilman's stance on Hulk? And who's regulating the super science car engines?
For this I want it to focus on things that would be *different* from our world, as opposed to what's the same. Sort of explore the ripple effect.
Story formats could be articles, history talks, a classroom, a political thriller, one of the religious characters in continuity, introducing an alien to the local life, etc.

Fandom: X-Men (Comicverse)
WB: Genealogy websites in the X-Men comicverse (X-Men Comics)
Kurt Wagner (X-Men Comics)
Original Character(s) (X-Men (Comicverse))
Any or No Characters (X-Men (Comicverse))
Prompts:
Okay this one is just silly, I'm sorry. But Kurt (or any other character in his situation or a programmer dealing with problems like this, people finding weird settings on the website, bug reports, etc) just trying to make a family tree and just... wow.
Wow.
Canon note: For X-Men continuity, by the bys, I haven't really read anything since the 00s, but I am aware of the recent continuity enough that I will be able to follow anything you choose to use from the present comics. However, if you would prefer to stick to the eras I know best, early Claremont and the early 00's are the times I know best.
Request 6
Fandom: X-Men (Comicverse)
WB: Psychic imprints as individuals (X-Men Comics)
Rogue (X-Men Comics)
Prompts:
I think a lot about the times Carol's taken over Rogue's head, how she's basically been filled with ghosts. I'd like something exploring that, either as reports on her, her working through it, or her having taken in a new mind (Preferably Gambit or just a shade of him. I like Gambit, I just kind of like the idea of them sharing a body) completely.
Tossing this out there but: Documentary on psychics? Rogue counts as one, in a weird way.
