My DNWs: Dub/noncon, underage (under 18/under 18 sex, under 18/adult anything), and unhappy endings.
Special note: I'm trying out the worldbuilding tag this year! I understand it's a bit of a wibbly wobbly thing to define, so as long as you involve the wider world in your story, I'll be perfectly happy.
Crossovers: You could mix any of these if you want to! All of them are pretty compatible, I think! As a bonus round, you can also mix any of these you'd like to with Murder She Wrote as long as it involves a (positive) Jessica Fletcher.
Unconventional fanworks: I love meta stuff! Reports, bibliographies, epistolary, you can write any of that for my prompts! If you want to make a twine game, I would absolutely be cool with that. Note: Nothing that involves audio, please.

Let's focus on the worldbuilding aspect first! Hellboy's world is pretty big. It has a bunch of through-plotlines, the Hyperboreans, Hell's whole deal, the Ogdru Jahad, the vampires, the whole England thing about King Arthur being real, ghosts in general, and Abe's journey across America a la Incredible Hulk helping out the people he meets.
I like all of this stuff, but if I had to give you direction, my favourite Hellboy stories have always been the ones where he deals with folklore and ghosts. If you want to have him explore a famous ghost story or stuff like red caps and kelpies, that would be cool. Basically stuff that digs into his world, that's all I want.
Hellboy and Abe prompts:
Well, I guess the worldbuilding prompts work too! But also I would love to see Abe and Hellboy's relationship as friends (or more, if you want) and teammates and early BPRD stuff, before Hellboy died and stuff. Maybe something that involves Hellboy introducing Abe to the pulp comics that became a thing in-between Abe being fishified and woken up and Hellboy loved as a kid, especially since some of them (Lobster Johnson, at least one other) turned out to be based on real people in Hellboy's world. Maybe they're having a ghost story night! Or a 'weirdest case I've ever been on' night!
Absolutely include any other canon characters you want, or make up your own agents if you need them for the story!
And I *love* horror. I just need Abe and Hellboy (and other canon characters) to be alive at the end.

Fandom notes: The game HAS been resurrected on multiple servers but since they all run different versions with different missions and powers, I'm going to focus on City of Heroes as it was on live with my prompts. I only know the Homecoming server for the new stuff, as a sidenote, if you plan to include stuff from there.

But there's so much else I like! The villains and their little stories (you can see Hellions talking about what sandwiches they brought to the Hollows that day, you can see Crey PR showing off clearly addled Paragon Protectors* and Crey Tanks in Brickstown, Luddites + Aeon's whole Thing) and the flavour in their descriptions and the backstory you pick up in missions arcs like a Titan Named Joe! The game is full of storyhooks and the world and I'd like to see fic that delves into a piece of it.
As a side note, this is a world with a somewhat different history in general than our world and probably some very different politics. If you want to delve what that's like, that would be interesting too. For instance I will always get a kick out of the Council plant on the city council (council on the council who calls himself Alderman. Oh my god) that gets too into it and decides to get Terra Volta blown up SOLELY to build a new one that would cost the city less in the budget (https://archive.paragonwiki.com/wiki/Penelope_Yin_Task_Force).
Or what would it be like seeing the face of someone you knew being puppeted by a Circle of Thorns mage? Stuff like that!

I love these guys. I love the cases. I love the jokes. I love that Dooley implies multiple times he is McQueen's spouse (by common-law). I love Raxa having a completely adventure/storyline that sometimes crosses into McQueen's world.
I would like canon typical stuff here. As I said above, I love adventure stuff. I also really like stuff that happens in the Darkside, even if it's Dooley's recollections.
Alternately, plot idea, they go somewhere normal out of the city and can't seem to cope. Raxa is there, for unrelated reasons, somehow.
Do I ship anything for this? Yes. Any combination you'd like to make of these three if you feel like it. Or no ships! I'm open. Like the portal to the Darkside that they'll need to close.
