Hello, 22nd of July
Jul. 22nd, 2020 10:26 amWhat's going on in my life:
If I've been doing anything else, it escapes my memory right now. (I was supposed to be doing redraws of art to see my progress but I don't know. I have no excuse. I'll do some today)
edit: I did it! Eventually if I keep doing it, people are gonna react with 'OH MY GOD YES' when I say I am going to art. Mark your calendars!
- Haven't opened any of the books I got to educate myself proving I am a terrible stereotype but this has also been the pattern for literally any topic in my life. I think I think that somehow I can learn via osmosis? And yet what do I know about the art deco movement? Zilch, my friends, zilch.
- Haven't finished any projects! I kept saying 'once school is over, it's creativity city, baby!' but I have spent over a hundred dollars on said projects so I'm still on brand
- Pictures have started falling off my walls. I think it's a sign to put something new up.
- Mosquitoes mosquitoes mosquitoes. Musky toes.
- I've been watching LPs of the Silent Hill games. Spooky! Messed up! I'm doing it this way because I realized I was never, ever, going to play them. Related: I have over 800 unplayed games in my Steam library.
- Related to watching Spooky LPs: My family likes to walk up behind me and clang dishes during the scariest parts. They claim it's 'an accident' and they were 'trying to be quiet'. Say that to my now white hair, buddy.

Date: 2020-07-26 09:34 am (UTC)No, I actually have a lot of thoughts on this, since I too have this terrible habit and it persisted even into academia, where I literally had only one job: to learn from books. It's kind of a hoarding mechanism, and therefore it serves the same function as other forms of hoarding, that is, to make you feel safe, like you can learn about that topic anytime you choose, so you don't need to do that right away. Sure, we have the entire internet at our fingertips, but that Learn Coptic in 20 Lessons book (true story, Bernie sent it to me for my birthday maybe... 10 years ago?) is what makes us feel like we really have the means to learn stuff.
