I got my driver's license renewed today with a new photo and to my delight I don't look like a murderer in this photo! I just look like I engage in a LOT of petty crime.

The photographer was like 'yeah, they're all pretty much mugshots' and then she giggled. I hope she likes her job.

I got new paper and watercolour markers to try out stuff with the gift card for the craft store my dad 'n stepmom gave me for Christmas.

I was boldened - while sorting things yesterday I came across a sketchbook from my teens that was actually complete, cover to back. That's a stat boost! I'm going to apply it to wielding exotic weaponry.

Anyway I got NEW sketchbooks.

We have to fill out all our unfinished sketchbooks and notebooks in Purgatory before we're allowed into Heaven. I won't be seeing my grandma for like... a century.

I also got a big embroidery hoop - they're great. I put the fabric in and then I put enamel pins on the fabric to make a pin display! It looks great on the walls.

I also set up a new Barbie display as part of my changing of the seasons. Three sisters, the afropuffs barbie with the wheelchair, the made to move curvy dancer in the artist playset, and the barbie rocker's two tone afro drummer with the shiny pants. Also a fashionista just hanging out because they can stand on their own now and they rule.

I think in the summer my giant collection of various types of centaur dolls (oh monster high, I miss you) will go back on display. They're just biding their time.

The kinder folks at the motor vehicle agency will take multiple pics until they get a decent one of you if you ask them nicely. Sorry you got someone who didn't really care.

I like your Barbie collection. They have some good ones, for all the complaint leveled at them. I have a big collection in bags to use as Background Elves! if I ever get back to my Bingo photo serials. I look forward to seeing the centaur collection!

Barbie's been doing just outstanding work with their fashionista line and their careers line. Affordable and creative, which is my catnip.

I didn't ask her to do me another, I actually was complimenting the photo when I said I looked less like a killer. My old photo was awful.

I hate that they won't let you smile in driver's license photos any more. I look like a pissed off rodent in mine.

I can't even wear my glasses so I also look confused because I can't actually see the camera.

And you're right, the 'don't smile!' doesn't help our case for looking fabulous and beautiful.
