Thunder and lightning! Very very frightening!

There's a real riot of a storm outside right now. The thunder's lasting like, thirty seconds and it is angry.

I've been reading comics and putting off chores/responsibilities but I was going to end this flippantly HOWEVER now I feel guilty? So I'm going to get started! Instead of going for a nap! My five am nap!

My mother's joining me for my university course on artifact analysis and I promised her notes from my first go at the class (there was a family tragedy and I dropped out of my courses that term) as a present and I've not exactly been forthcoming with the notes. I'll do them now! A nice big organized document of them! I'm hyping myself up because I hate microsoft word more than you can even fathom.

The comics are classic Claremont X-Men AND Kitty Pryde has just been introduced and boy! She looked a lot different then! A more prominent nose and lots of curly hair! Now I can't tell her apart from most other brown haired girls in comics.

How about that Proteus storyline? Boy! I didn't expect it to get all weird and Oedipal near the end there but it sure did. It sure did. I'm sure he's been vanquished and won't show up again.

I'm also trying out Saladin Ahmed's Exiles and apparently Blink is black. I mean, she's Neon Pink but also she's from the West Indies. This is only notable because I didn't realize how little I knew about her even though I really liked her from the first run on Exiles (which I admittedly still need to finish) and I'm going 'how deep does this go?'

Exiles and What If and Elseworlds were a bit a big influence in me starting Alternate Universe Exchange which after a first run I abandoned it on the doorstop of another friend for her to raise as her own and I'm glad it exists. I submitted my assignment for it some days ago.

Speaking of fic exchanges, I just opened sign ups for Disney Animated Movie Exchange, which as you can guess is a fic/art exchange dedicated to the Disney movie canon. And Pixar.

I keep mixing up where you're from and being like 'wouldn't a swampy area have lots of storms?' even though I know damn well your timezone means you can't possibly be from there.

Heeee, yeah, opposite of swamp here. Oak scrub/Mediterranean, valley where we swelter. I mean it did used to flood through here every year but then came the Army Corps of Engineers...now we have dams. And levees. And in summer it was always dry.
Just. Drier now, usually. Climate chaos.

I think it's the mermaid crowns you do that put the association in my head, because if there's anywhere in north america with mermaids, it's florida or bc.

An AU exchange sounds fun. Disney...maybe? I'm not on top of Disney like I am MCU, but that may change now that Disney owns MCU.

Speaking of Marvel, I submitted my Marvel Big Bang story to my beta today, AND an artist has already claimed my story! I'm super excited! I know her and she's really good.

I'm a big fan of animated movies! Probably more than live action. So far no one's made me have to do a ruling on like, the Marvel Rising animated movie though and whether it counts as Disney canon.
