World of Warcraft: Darnassus Doesn't Burn, World of Warcraft: Vol'jin Doesn't Die, World of Warcraft: Theramore Isn't Bombed: What would have happened to the faction conflict if any of these had happened? Especially to (all) characters I tagged for World of Warcraft. How would Jaina's return to Kul Tiras been if Theramore hadn't been destroyed? How would conflict with the Hord be if Darnassus hadn't burned? What choices would Vol'jin made with the azerite? Would anyone have found Prince Farondis out there? Prince Farondis (World of Warcraft)
World of Warcraft: True love's kiss can free a cursed ghost, All: A Is a Ghost Only B Can See: This is all about how Farondis just straight up disappears once you get the tidestone. Where does he go? What happened? Maybe these were what happened! Maybe only one person can see Farondis now! Maybe he got brought back to life! Maybe he's hanging out with Vol'jin with Bwonsamdi and really confused. I have to confess I wasn't thinking ahead with true love's kiss for Farondis and pairings and I'm sorry. Khadgar or Illidan works for me or you can have him fall in love with your hero. Or, if you want to go to a stranger place, Azshara.

All: Arranged Marriage AU, All: Arranged marriage to bring peace between two countries/species on the verge of a war, All: Character gets another character’s help that they didn’t get in canon, ALL: Characters Meet at a Different Point in Their Canon: Talanji and Jaina find peace... through marriage! Either as a last ditch effort to avoid full out war between Zandalar and Kul Tiras after BFA events have happened (and perhaps Jaina's magic to help save Talanji from Bwonsamdi), or before Jaina ever left Kul Tiras, a novel idea was presented to unite two great navies. (I'd also be okay for switching in Vol'jin with either of them)

ALL: Grifter and Priest AU, ALL: Characters met as children: Storm and Kurt! The thief and the priest! They're about the same age, what if fate put them together in a different way, sans the X-Men? And it doesn't have to be Kurt who's the priest in the Grifter and Priest AU, if you understand me. What about Storm ending up in Kurt's circus? What if Kurt ended up in Egypt with Storm and they escape the Shadow King together? Anyway, I ship it and I hope you do too.

Marvel Comics: Gambit is Mr Sinister and Cyclops' clone, ALL: Canon villain is one of the good guys now: In the X-Men miniseries 'The End', Gambit turned out to be a clone combined from Mr. Sinister and Cyclops so that Sinister could use his body to escape from Apocalypse's hold. But Apocalypse found out and stole Gambit leading to Gambit ending up as the diable blanc for the Thieves Guild. What if it hadn't gone that way? What if Gambit was found by the X-men during an early encounter with Sinister? Also: What if Mr. Sinister decided to be a good guy but was very Victorian about it with about the same amount of respect for Scott's autonomy.
Peter Parker | Spider-Man (MC - 616)
Marvel Comics: Spider-Man joins the X-Men, Marvel Comics: Spider-Man actually has Superman's origin: Spider-Man has been X-Men adjacent more than once! What if he ended up on the team? What if Aunt May didn't believe him about it being a radioactive spider bite and sent him to Xavier's school to help him? What would Spider-Man look like wearing the X? Would his luck be even worse on the most unlucky team? For the other: What if Aunt May and Uncle Ben found Peter in a little rocket ship and he grew up with the same Spider-powers, but from childhood. Please picture Aunt May trying to get toddler Peter off the ceiling with a broom.
Also Ms Lion is verifiably the Best Good Boy so if you include him anywhere, that'd be lovely.

ALL: Origin Swap, ALL: Characters Meet at a Different Point in Their Canon, ALL: Childhood Friends AU: What if Rogue had been the thieves guild Diable Blanc and Gambit had been raised by Mystique and Destiny? What if Gambit and Rogue had spent their Southern childhoods as secret friends? What if they both met each other before they joined the X-Men? What if when Gambit was on the run from his failed marriage ceremony (how the hell old was he for that anyway?) and Rogue was dealing with Carol's voice in her head?

Poirot - Agatha Christie: Poirot burnt all the records of his failed cases: Isn't it weird that Hastings always doubts Poirot but there's never been evidence of Poirot failing?
Poirot - Agatha Christie: Poirot becomes a major subject of true crime podcasts: Poirot dies in mysterious circumstances, left cases where he never actually told the authorities who the killer was, and was involved in all sorts of high profile crime. He'd be a great subject. Disclaimer: I have never listened to a true crime podcast so you can literally make up anything about how they work and I will believe you.
ALL: Ballet Dancer AU: He's very light on his feet. What if he was a dancer who solved crime? Or Hastings was instead of a solder? Poirot does love the arts.
ALL: Canon is 100x more gothic and foreboding: Yes.
ALL: Canon setting has Silent Hill style Otherworld: Yes.
All: A Is a Ghost Only B Can See: Does this mean Poirot is a crime solving ghost who no one else actually sees in the stories? Does this mean that after Poirot's death he comes back to Hastings? Good question. Or was Hastings dead all along?

Warrick Brown was my favourite CSI character. I was extremely sad when he was unceremoniously offed. And then I started rewatching the show and came across a marvelous episode that posited his vengeful ghost was fighting crime. In the end it was someone else doing it, but that filled me with an urge to see Ghost!Warrick.
But living!Warrick is also great. And married to someone else Warrick is good! (I have nothing against his wife, but the show did her so dirty. Actually, use that someone else as a version of her that didn't immediately turn into them both being their worst person. AU: Had a happy marriage).
But give me a ghost story one way or another. Or a cat story. Or a he lives happily ever after story. Please!
