Prompts

For all prompts, please feel free to use canon characters or OCs to interact with the universe! If you make your own hero/villain, please make them consistent with in-game lore. Other than that, go wild. This does not mean you have to stick gender-wise. A lot of villain groups are monogender and I think that only matters for the knives and talons, so if you want to do a dude carnie or lady warrior, that's fine with me!

• What interests me about The Lost is that they are composed of kidnapped homeless who now have a religious belief in the Rikti. Some are cured in the Midnighter mission. What happens to these people next? What about the ones still in the Cult who weren't cured? What are they like once they become a Rikti? What would your hero or villain do if involved with them in some way?


• What interests me about the Hellions is their artifact smuggling and the girlfriends from hell, which in-game seemed to be a response to the Skulls girlfriends (even though Hellions had girlfriends over in Rogue Isles). A story about an artifact going wrong? A Hellion realizing that a girlfriend from Hell is actually a demon (they don't seem to notice in game)? What about a Hellion trying to get out? Or in?


• What interests me about the Luddites is how little there IS about them in-game. Plus they have the funniest incidental dialogue. 'Thanks for asking! Non-violent protest does NOT mean only knives!' (or something to that effect). I'd like exactly what the mental process of 'our city is powered by a demon' = 'let's dress up as monks' could actually lead to.


• Which also leads into Crey Corporation! The Luddites are protesting Aeon, and Crey needs a little shaking up as well - they may not be using a demon like Aeon, but they do have those wonderful tubes of dead heroes they keep cloning and I'm sure that's against the religious beliefs of the luddites too. Or maybe it isn't. Could one lead into the other? What sort of MAD SCIENCE does Crey get up to? What would an Office-style documentary on a Crey lab be like? What would the Crey training videos be like?


• Knives of Artemis and Indigo are sort of the same prompt - I want to see a spy adventure set in the weird and wooly world of Paragon. Or heck, what about if Indigo had to do her thing over in Night Ward?

BONUS: I love the heck out of ghosts and the game is full of them so if you can include them in some way, I'd be so happy.

Abby Lewis prompts:

Creepy ghost child! Was she the ghost of the murdered child? Was she a puppet from a witch? Was SHE a witch? Does she ever reappear? Do any of the other villagers 'come back'? A haunted singing child ghost is very much my jam. Please take this somewhere super spooky if you run with it. Justice for Smoochums.

Khadgar and Khadgar/Gul'dan prompts:

I just want to be clear that while I have specifically asked for Khadgar/Gul'dan, I also nominated Khadgar as a single character for people who wanna write some Khadgar but not necessarily 'this is a cursed pairing' Khadgar.

I'm a big fan of adventure fic - Khadgar's time on Draenor (and maybe an explanation of how he went from old bearded guy to the guy we know today), adventures as a Raven, his time studying, what he's been doing since BFA started, adventures with his elf babysitter in WoD, and any potential hijinks with the council in Legion!

As for Khadgar/Gul'dan: What if Gul'dan captures Khadgar before we face him in the nighthold? Mage in distress!Khadgar interests me. What could have gone down in WoD? What if Khadgar tries to broker peace early on and gets a surprise offer? What if Gul'dan escapes the Nighthold? Dubcon (not noncon) is totally fine with me for this pairing.

(Sidenote: I'm also good with Khadgar/Illidan and Khadgar/Medivh, if you matched on just Khadgar but liked those pairings too)

Talanji and Talanji/Jaina prompts:

I love Talanji! She's probably my favourite new character of BFA! She's an action princess who wears the skulls of her enemies and is also really neat.

So she's in a Situation! Her dad's pledged her soul to Bwonsamdi, her dad is DEAD, and I'm not sure this Sylvanas lady is all that trustworthy since she got this cool new knife. But also you don't have to write that period! You can do before she even enters the game! Court politics! Adventures in Zuldazar! Raising a raptor! Anyway I think Talanji is neat.

Talanji/Jaina: I like the idea of the arranged marriage trope here. I also like the idea of them stranded and instead of fighting, working together. Also maybe an AU where Kul Tiras and Zandalar ally as a third group, instead of Alliance vs Horde? What about if peace times suddenly happen? I like them because they're both competent, powerful leaders and I would like to see them hold hands. And kiss.

Tehd Shoemaker/Marius Felbane prompts:

I like this pairing in a nice lowkey way, with the lines said about them in canon and Tehd's funny attitude! I don't need an epic romance if you write this, I'll settle for two weird men (zombie, demon hybrid) hanging out being buddies/closer than buddies and fighting demons or discovering what exactly the inns in the Forsaken territory serve.

I notice they have a single mount between them.

Froslass: I love ghost stories! I love scary pokemon! She is the scariest pokemon. She's just a general 'ghost story!' prompt.

Agatha: I love ghost stories, I love ghost trainers, I love competent older women. What is a day at the league like for her? What does she do in her spare time? What are some of her capture stories with the ghosts like? Does she help with ghost incidents?

Sycamore/Lysandre: I get endless amusement how Lysandre is clearly evil and Sycamore is like 'oh! He's so passionate!' and if this is somehow responded to by Lysandre with 'oh my Arceus, he is so stupid. I need to kiss him' that would please me! A lot!

First off, since Lucio is the combining fact in both of these, I'd like to talk about some ideas involving him - so far he hasn't officially been on either team (Talon, Overwatch) in Lore. We know he's a DJ, we know he has the healing tech, we know that Vishkar does not like him. We know that Vishkar works with Talon (or at least one of their high ranking employees is in the Talon leadership).

So I'm *very* interested in recruitment scenarios. I know he's also a celebrity DJ, but I'm less interested in that as anything other than set dressing.

Lúcio Correia dos Santos/Reinhardt Wilhelm prompts: Besides the above mentioned recruitment idea, I like how they banter about music tastes in the waiting room. Music-based bonding would be fun, especially if you use the fact Reinhardt would have been into today's music. I'm very fond of their height difference.

Lúcio Correia dos Santos/Doomfist: The Successor | Akande Ogundimu prompts: Lucio kicked Vishkar out of Rio de Janeiro, Vishkar is a part (in some way) of Talon. Does Talon want to make an example of him? Do they want him with them? Either way it's up to Doomfist to figure out what to do. Also like the idea of already Overwatch-aligned Lucio stuck in some sort of sitaution (collapsed tunnel during a fight?) with Doomfist and doing his healer duty to help him and bond/recruit him to the side of angels. Happy ending please.

Any Mario setting for this is fine with me - the adventure worlds of Super Mario 3, Mario Tennis, Mario Kart, Mario RPG, etc. Use whichever you want. I know what their deal is.

Light and fluffy? Game canon compatible? Epic sweeping romance? Luigi singing sadly on a balcony? I'm open to so much for this. It's one of the longest pairings I've had. I even bought the zine that came out of Shortbox a little while ago. That had a mechanic AU and one about Luigi and Bowser on the downlow. Also good prompts!
