Dear Fic Corner
Jun. 16th, 2015 07:47 amHello, Dear Fic Corner Author! I'm excited we've been matched up and looking forward to what you write!
Remember, all my prompts are optional! I only make them so that you have something to work from.
Likes: Stories about the same rating as the source material, exploration of canon, what happens next? and friendship.
Dislikes: sex crimes, gore, and sad endings.
The Neverending Story
From my sign up:
I've always been curious more about Cairon's story. What happens to him after he goes? What is his story for another time?
If that's not to your fancy, I adore the Childlike Empress and would love a story with her at the center.
And Atreyu and Falkor? Love 'em. I'd like to see them after Atreyu is grown. What else could they get up to?
What I enjoy about The Neverending Story: How open-ended it is. Everyone in the book has a story. Everyone. And I always want to see those stories.
What I would enjoy in a story based on it: I just want more stories in that world, really. I want to see where characters went, dangers to the world, something that furthers its existence beyond the story contained in the book.
Homeward Bounders
I'm happy with a story with them both or a story on just one of them!
What happens to Helen when she gets home? What does she do next?
What is a world Jamie has been to that wasn't mentioned in the book? What sort of new friends does Jamie make?
Did Helen and Jamie ever travel together again?
Did Helen have a family? Did Jamie meet them?
What is the far future like for Jamie?
What I enjoy about Homeward Bounders: So many worlds! So many ways that Jamie should have died, and the things he saw and did. Helen's power! Jamie was doing his thing for over a hundred years. And then he's going to continue it just because his is the journey that never ends. Well, it will eventually. Helen was the heroine of her own story. She had a destiny. I liked that a lot about her. I liked how Jamie was the one with the least 'hero of his own story' yet in the end he just... continued, saving everyone in his own way.
What I would enjoy in a story based on it: Doing something with all the story hooks throughout the book. Or a exploration of the characters.
Rod Allbright Alien Adventures
I like what happens after they meet Rod, but what I really want is a crew-centric story, especially one focused on Grakker and Snout, or either of them separately. I also like Grakker/Snout but trust me, I don't expect it.
What sort of things did they get up to? What's their world like when it's not in total peril? What is it like when it IS in peril?
Rod Allbright Alien Adventures: Goodtime space adventures and I really enjoyed the characters.
What I would enjoy in a story based on it: Something heavily character based, since they were my favourite part of the books. They don't even have to be doing anything exciting.
