There is no big bang theory for Narnia

There's a Narnia Big Bang opening sign-ups tomorrow! Because my friend Jess and Snacky are big narnia nerds, I've decided to ingratiate myself to them by participating. Also apparently I have written Narnia fic before? I don't remember but it's in my AO3 profile so I must have done it.

I'm choosing what prompt I'm gonna claim now! I'm torn between doing a variation on a fairytale in a Narnia setting (a mermaid prince gains legs to try and woo Susan) or a humorous backstory-filling one about Jadis ruling Narnia (a lot of MEMO TO WOLVES at the end of sections).

There was one prompt (it was a good prompt, though, don't let the argument it started colour your mind if you come across it) where I was arguing the validity of it, because it mentioned talking dinosaurs, which led to a science debate and the validity of Magician's Nephew, and well, this was my tweet about it:

Arguing that there were no dinosaurs in Narnia because Aslan sung it into existence. Realized that I'm a Narnia creationist.

Friend's rebuttal about the implication of dinosaurs from Last Battle was this quote:

"The Dragons and Giant Lizards now had Narnia to themselves. They went to and fro tearing up the trees by the roots and crunching them up as if they were sticks of rhubarb."

This is total bullshit for obvious reasons, right?

I mean, it's clearly talking about Godzillas, not dinosaurs.

seconded so hard. though i deeply love anything with little mermaid references, too, so it's not like an either or thing for me.

Heeh. Okay :D I ended up deciding to do both, one as a mini bang and the mermaid one as a big.
