Another one bites the dust!
Jan. 16th, 2020 06:23 pmI finished my second diary!
Did you know my theory that every journal/sketchbook you fill completely is a stat boost you can apply to you avatar and that every unfinished one you have to work on in purgatory before you're allowed into Heaven?
Just little thoughts from me!
So far I've managed not to miss a single entry. Go team! It will hurt all the more when I inevitably do!
My cold is now reduced to some sniffles and sometimes sneezing, no other symptoms. We made it, folks! We survived the inner cold! But will I survive the outside cold? We've got extreme cold warnings as it dips below -30 because God forsook my province long ago!
Tomorrow I'm eating GYROS. If everything works out, that is.
Something something I'm feeling on the upswing, which is nice. I hope I can translate that into making stuff. I didn't do a second flower this week because it was too cold to go to school on Weds when I would have done it. If I couldn't even get the mail without a lot of physical pain, I was not going to do the school walk.
In other news, on Tuesday I got to see the pottery I'll be sorting for my Pottery Analysis class and I am HYPED. So much cool decoration on them! And there was a 10 cm already reconstructed rim sherd!!! And some pieces had red ochre on them which means they were really important.
We're getting this pottery to go over because the government wants to sell off that area of the Forks in Winnipeg but they can't legally allow development in an archaeological site and no business is willing to pay for it. So they've pledged 12 million to do a proper dig and retrieval. I'm not sure how I feel about the development of the Forks (they put the Human Rights Museum on top of a potential site, showing how nebulous the rule following can be and let's not get into their omission of Canada's human rights abuses), but I *am* excited about being tertiary to a proper dig.
We're only being graded based on how much work we put in, not whether we successfully find an entire pot in the sherds but oh my god if I can build a pot that would be *so cool*.
