ultimately there is little in this world I can control but I would like my barbies
Topic: Shopping complaints
Booo. Back in December I pre-ordered a bunch of barbies and only the two I want least have shipped! The others are 'we do not know when this will be in stock'! The worst part is amazon has so many other crimes going on that not fulfilling orders is like, really low on the list. You know my sister pre-ordered Pokemon Snap and it didn't ship until a month after? Even with the top shipping? My god. If you're going to be horrible, at least be efficient.
Anyway, barbies. They're great. They're also SO weird about letting you know about them. Did you know you have to pay to get news updates from the Barbie website? I have not done that. The payment also gives you the ability to order from them.
I've had to give up my beloved unicornos because the Tokidoki brand has decided to get into NFTs and that's easier to give up than my only access to stores, pretty much. We had a department store once where I lived, then Target routed them, then Target left. But I swear if Zellers roused itself from the grave, I would give up Amazon in a hot second.
Topic: Fun stuff!
So I've gotten back into Habitica, a gameified habit builder/to-do thing and it's been great! It's been three months or so and I've consistently been exercising daily since taking that up as a challenge and now I can walk further and better than I have since I was young, my shoulders are stronger, and my endurance is just generally better. I've also been getting a lot of cleaning done, among other projects.
One of the more frivolous things I'm doing is I'm trying to actually read/watch/play all the stuff I own/subscribe to! I guess that's not really frivolous, it encourages me to spend less money (I did buy some steam sale stuff today! Also trying to get my friends to play Dig and the Blackwell series as good game intros) and so here's the list of installed games on my computer that I have to play which I had to do before I was allowed to buy a new one but it was the sale and also I forgot until I woke up in a pile of receipts:
And that may seem daunting but all I have to actually do is open and try, not beat them. Some I've actually played before, but lost my save files and have to restart. And some I DO want to finish (Obra Dinn) but the controls make me very very ill.
The list remains unclicked.
But! I'm excited. I'm anticipatory.
Next month I start summer term! I'll be focusing on world history.
I am glad I did not do Canadian History like my original plan, given the fact that right now I really do not care very much for my country and what it has done.

And no, I didn't know that about Barbie. I'm not sure if their behavior means they aren't interested enough in making money or if it means they care about money too much. Probably they care about the wrong money.

I know that feeling so well. But yeah, your place sucks. *hugs*

Barbie: We're A Lifestyle(tm) I guess. They're rich enough but I'd like to actually know what they're *making*. It seems I only find out when the media is having a freakout that a barbie is a little plumper than usual.
Thank. I wish there was something I could DO that was productive and helped anyone. So I focus on little bullshit to distract myself.
