"And shall I marry a nice steady man if I find one?" I asked demurely.

Harry came close to me.

"My God! Anne, if you ever marry anyone else but me, I'll wring his neck. And as for you-"

"Yes," I said, pleasurably excited.

"I shall carry you away and beat you black and blue!"

-The moment I started to seriously reconsider what I was reading during The Man In The Brown Suit by Agatha Christie

What a clusterfuck this book was.

I suppose it's Agatha Christie trying to write an adventure, but I spent it going 'that's sexist, that's racist, that's... that was really stupid, Anne.'

I said 'that was really stupid' a lot while reading this. The worst part was, near the end, it looked like it was going to have an actually satisfying ending with half a twist, right? It does that.

Then it kept going.

I suppose to people invested in the main pairing of the book it was a good epilogue, but since I found the man completely repellent, it didn't work out so much that way to me.

I did like how Anne had spunk. She had me there. Oh yeah, summary of the story: Anne Beddingfield, recent orphan, witnesses a death at the subway. Wackiness ensues.
